Here are some brief facts to get to know about the Lucky's staff.   We hope this will assist you in making your decision to get whatever body modifications you wish done at Lucky's!!!

Penelope

penelope

Penelope, a Long Island New York Native began piercing herself at the age of 13, but quickly decided that piercing others was much more interesting. She first came to the valley in 1994 to attend Hampshire College, but instead ended up with a piercing apprenticeship in 1995. After searching relentlessly for a shop to call her own, Penelope opened Lucky's in 1999 with the support of Skip Traverse.

Penelope has now been piercing professionally since 1995 and is one of 2 piercers in New England to become a member of the Association of Professional Piercers. She attends the APP conference every year in Las Vegas since 2001 where she confers with piercers from all around the world to keep up to date with the latest health and safety information and piercing techniques to make sure your body modification experience is the best it can possibly be. Through the APP, Penelope has been fortunate enough to learn from and befriend some of the most talented and well known piercers in the industry. She travels not only the country, but the world, learning about all aspects of body modification...feel free to ask her about her journeys.

Known for her gentle bedside manner, Penelope is the most experienced piercer in Western Massachusetts and the ONLY piercer in the valley who is fully trained in ALL piercings including,   male and female genitals and single point piercing. Penelope is the first woman in the world to have transdermal horns done, and traveled all the way to Phoenix AZ to have them done by Modification Specialist Steve Hayworth. She also has subdermal implants that were done by artist and good friend Phish. Feel free to come by and check out her 3-D body modification, because you won't see it very often in these parts!

Penelope specializes in complex surface work, custom bent multiple earpiercing projects, branding and scarification. She is also the first piercer in Mass. to offer Single point piercing as well as free check ups and piercing maintenance. She is very involved with the local Legislature and regulations of Body Art in not only Northampton and Amherst but in many of the surrounding Towns. Penelope is well known in the Area for setting the standard for technique, cleanliness and constantly raising the bar as she goes... She has a soft spot for anyone willing to challenge the unknown, if you can dream it, she can make it a reality.

A master pumpkin carver, Penelope is also responsible for opening New Englands longest running Goth-Industrial night, Haven. You can find her spookin' up the tables every Tuesday night at the fabulous Diva's nightclub.www.thehavenclub.com

When she is not spinning, piercing, or practicing underwater basket weaving, she can be found playing with her poochies Kinda, Gertie,& Nacho and the rest of her zoo or dancing about in her many gardens.

I started trying to tattoo when I was 18 years old....I bought some stuff at Papillon and hacked up a bunch of my homeboys with old english, graffiti and such...... I was hanging with this dude Les Doty who taught me a lot of shit and i will be forever grateful to him for teaching me what to do and what not to do in this industry.. After a while i got frustrated because I wasn't able to do it well enough so I quit and sold all my stuff, I had a habit of doing this with all my hobbies when I was a kid... not sure why but whatever....

Years went by of me working at a few jobs (building Home Depots, working as a salesmen at Daddy's Junky Music and Guitar Center). I excelled at the sales jobs... a natural born bullshitter with the ability to sell booze to a nun on sunday... Somewhere along the way I got some new machines from Pulse and took another whack at it ...... I tattooed at the crash house where i lived...again hacking my friends up and shit....around 4 years ago I met Kevin C. who worked at Loonar at the time...my now wife and I went in and she got a shit load of stars on one leg... Kev and I hit it off and he found out I had some tattoo experience and I was as that time drawing a lot... After a couple years of being fiends he helped get me a job at Lucky's as a counter person (um.....yeah about that). I quit that, went on unemployment and FINALLY officially started an apprenticeship. After 6-8 months of that i got my license to tattoo and started as the kanji guy....that was almost 1 1/2 years ago and in that time my abilities have grown tenfold -- or so im told...

I'm into old school, new school, dark, evil, organic styles ..... but I dont try to define myself with words.... I really like having challenges presented to me, overcoming them and walking away from a piece with both myself and the client ecstatic about the tattoo. I work best when people are being original and excited about their tattoos..... so try it -- its not that hard. Check out my website at www.benreigle.com

Hey, I'm just a Tattoo guy who loves to tattoo. I've been tattooing for about ten years now and around tattoos half my life. I was told I had to write a bio for this site even though I'm not all that interesting. But here goes any way. I have drawn on and off all my life, and collected tattoos from all over. I have tattooed in 3 states. I am interested in a whole mess of stuff, way too much to sit here and type. So if you are looking to get a good tattoo, come on down and see me. Peace.

Zach

Zach's life as a piercer began with an extensive apprenticeship under head piercer Penelope. After traveling the valley and the country, he's finally settled back at his home, Lucky's. He can be found as a piercer at both the Amherst and Northampton locations, and responds well to the gift of smoothies or milkshakes.
